Gina Kruger
Gina is the Deputy Head of Programs Nursing and Midwifery; the Course Chair: Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing and an Associate Professor in Midwifery at Victoria University. In 2022, she was Acting Head of Programs leading the operational and strategic directions for nursing and midwifery growing and mentoring a team of 14 academics. She has extensive leadership experience and expertise in midwifery education, regulation and research.
Her key achievements in midwifery and nursing education focus on contemporary curriculum design and implementation. This encompasses the application of innovative teaching utilising contemporary educational approaches with the aim of supporting the education of safe and reflective midwifery graduates. Woman-centred care is at the core of midwifery student learning driven by research into supporting midwives in practice and facilitating Continuity of Care Experiences for students to meet women’s needs and desires for healthy birthing.
