The Australian Midwifery History Project Group welcomes our new members Assoc Professor Gina Kruger (Vic) and Alana Street (Tas).

Gina is the Deputy Head of Programs Nursing and Midwifery; the Course Chair: Bachelor of Midwifery/Bachelor of Nursing; and an Associate Professor in Midwifery at Victoria University. Her key achievements in midwifery and nursing education focus on contemporary curriculum design and implementation, with woman-centred care at the core of midwifery student learning driven by research. Alana has enjoyed some wonderful midwifery career opportunities in the public and private sectors, and continues to work within the remote Indigenous communities of the Northern Territory, and working with refugees in Australia and overseas, particularly Papua New Guinea. She has been a long term member of the Tasmanian Branch of the Australian College of Midwives embracing the roles of member, Area Representative and President.
